Our Minister
In July 2008, the congregation of The Old Presbyterian Church Templepatrick called Dr. Scott Peddie, Licenciate of the Presbytery of Antrim, to be their minister. Scott was ordained and installed as minister on Saturday 6th September 2008.
About Scott...
Scott is married to Fiona and they have two sons, Matthew and Christopher. Educated in Scotland, New Zealand and latterly Northern Ireland, Scott has a BSc in Marine Biology, an MSc in Business Management, a PhD in Marine Biology, a GradCertTh in Theology and an MDiv (Master of Divinity) degree. He is a Chartered Biologist, a member of the Society of Ordained Scientists (S.O.Sc) and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). Scott has worked for a number of years in management and research positions within the Scottish, Norwegian, Irish and New Zealand aquaculture industries and has also spent some time working as an animal health economist. For the last six years he has run a consultancy, training and publishing business with Fiona, in addition to fulfilling his ministerial duties in Templepatrick and Crumlin.
The focus of Scott’s ministry in Templepatrick is in enabling people to grow in faith through worship and fellowship. He is passionate about community outreach and building a Church that is alive and vibrant and connects with people from all walks of life. A major aspect of Scott’s ministry relates to children and youth work with the aim of facilitating the development of a socially and ethically engaged Christian faith.
